JustOne believes that:

·         Neuter and spay is essential; just look at the numbers. Every year an estimated 6 million otherwise adoptable pets are killed. This is attributable to the fact that there are too many pets and simply not enough homes. By choosing to spay and neuter your pets you can directly reduce the number of pets that need homes. And, by reducing the number of pets that need homes, you can end the suffering they face and free up resources at animal shelters and rescue groups for other animal-related care.

·         Neuter and spay should be easily affordable. Face it, often money is tight. It seems likely that if a person wishing to neuter and spay their pet did not face a financial hardship to do it, they then would be more likely to neuter and spay their pets. If money is tight, it is also more likely to go to mortgage payments, car payments, food and clothing and less likely to go to neutering and spaying a pet. But, we believe that most people do think spay and neuter is a good idea . . . but perhaps they just don't have the financial means. www.justone.org wants to be able to provide anyone, anywhere in the US free or reduced fee neuter and spay service.

·         Neuter and spay should be easily accessible. Use whichever vet you want. It is your choice. While there are many great reduced fee clinics in the US, most are not always that convenient. If you and your spouse both work, you have children, you have other commitments, are you going to drive a long distance to get to a reduced fee clinic? Probably not. This, therefore, results in a pet not being neutered or spayed and directly contributes to the problem of pet overpopulation. www.justone.org seeks to make its services available to the vets office that is most convenient for you.

Carol Bresnicky

Founder

While the idea of www.justone.org began to form years ago, the dream, the actual operations and the JustOne website was officially launched in 2004 by founder Carol Bresnicky.

www.justone.org was started based Carol’s on personal experiences, as well as experiences shared by others who have sought neuter and spay services. It seemed that time and time again, the same consistent roadblocks appeared when trying to get an animal neutered or spayed: long waiting times to get an available appointment, often pre-surgery blood tests were required and that added an additional expense, the locations of reduced fee clinics were not within convenient drive times, the use of a voucher system that required you to order a voucher in advance and bring it to the vets’ office which added several weeks to the process and the high expenses involved with using a private vet.

Carol committed to her passion for animal welfare and decided to build JustOne as an organization that would employ technology to keep overhead costs low while ensuring it operated under a non-bureaucratic approach to identifying and fulfilling the national need of reducing pet overpopulation. Carol integrates more than a decade of strategic marketing and operations management experience into managing the organization and has proven herself to be a compassionate, effective and capable leader as well as a strategic developer of successful business models. Carol cannot remember a time in her life when animal welfare was not important to her and has served as a volunteer in rescue groups as well as local trap, neuter and release initiatives.
