Where do my donations go?
Historically, we have adhered as closely as possible to the following formula: 90% of the donation goes to neuter and spay, 10% goes to expenses.
Let’s break it down your donation specifically. For every dollar you donate, 90 cents is made available to any individual seeking neuter and spay for their pet. It would not cover any vaccines or other services like boarding, grooming, etc. It would pay the vet directly for the neuter spay surgery. (For cats, we also try to fund the Feline Leukemia test prior to neuter/spay.) The 10 cents goes to expenses to pay for items such as: hosting of our website, postage for outreach campaigns, fees charged by the company that allows us to collect online donations and federal and state filing fees.
Admittedly, we have not always been able to meet the 90/10 rule. Usually this happens when we seek neuter and spay services in rural areas and low-cost options are not available. Our goal for 2008 and 2009, is to build a larger network of veterinarians that participate in offering low-cost services.

When there are so many organizations that do neuter and spay, why is www.justone.org so important?
Yes, it is true that there are many wonderful organizations that have and continue to provide reduced fee spay and neuter services. We greatly appreciate what these organizations do but we feel they might not be a match for everyone in every situation. If they work for you, we encourage you to use them and neuter and spay your pets.
If you are unsure, ask yourself these questions: Do I know where they are located? Do I know how to contact them? Are their hours convenient for my schedule? How much do they charge? Before I make an appointment, do I need to get a voucher from the organization that subsidizes them and if yes, how do I get that? How long will the wait be for an appointment?
If those questions pose roadblocks for you then www.justone.org seeks to remove those obstacles. We would fund any vet you chose to use. First, email us so that we can get your information and the provider you would like to use. Let us know the location, date and contact information. We will then contact the provider directly and arrange payment. We do not require you obtain a voucher. For those that do not have a predetermined vet or would like another option, we can research the available networks in your area for reduced fee clinics. Regardless, of which option you choose, we pay the bill as much as we can based on our current funding status.
